EXMO.me ceases operations: liquidation after UK and EU sanctions

With deep regret we announce: after more than 13 years of operation, EXMO.me is ceasing operations and starting liquidation proceedings.

Why this happened

  • 26 May 2026 — the exchange was hit by sanctions from the UK Government;
  • 24 July 2026 — EU sanctions followed;
  • The measures caused asset freezes, a ban on financial and trust services, and blocking of payment providers and crypto exchanges holding the platform liquidity;
  • Custodians unilaterally froze the Platform funds — management has no access to part of the assets.

What users should do

  • Since 25 July 2026 the service has stopped and is forming a liquidation balance;
  • Within 45 calendar days users must pass verification and file a claim for inclusion in the liquidation balance;
  • Withdrawals will be enabled after KYC/AML procedures and the balance is compiled;
  • Processing may take up to six months — status is available in the personal cabinet.

For arbitrage strategies: EXMO can no longer be used as a trading venue.
